Tackling the TBR: Books I'm Reading in June and July
Plus sides of having to stay at home all day during a pandemic? The wealth of time for reading! It took a couple months for me to get back on a "normal" reading schedule again, but now that I'm back on it I can't believe I ever stopped.
Here's what's on my list right now! Those with strikethroughs are books I've completed just prior to posting this roundup.
Non-Fiction:
- "This Book is Anti-Racist" by Tiffany Jewell
Autobiography
- "Born a Crime" by Trevor Noah
Fiction:
- "Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas" by Tom Robbins'
"The Knockout Queen" by Rufi Thorpe- What an awesome read. I was so drawn to the two main characters of this book and the struggles that they face when growing up. The ending was unexpected in quite a few ways, and I so rarely read books where I don't see the major turning point coming. I'd give this a 4/5!
Historical Fiction:
- "The Autobiography of Henry VIII: With Notes by His Fool, Will Sommers: A Novel" by Margaret George
Fantasy/Sci-Fi:
- "The Silmarillion" by J.R.R. Tolkien
YA:
- "My Almost Flawless Tokyo Dream Life" by Rachel Cohn
Self-Help:
- "Girl, Wash Your Face" by Rachel Hollis
- "My So-Called Freelance Life" by Michelle Goodman
Travel:
"Barcelona Precincts: A Curated Guide to the City's Best Shops, Eateries, Bars and Other Hangouts" by Ben Holbrook- I've already decided where my husband and I will be traveling for our first "Japanniversary"... Barcelona 2022! This book really helped me narrow down some places that the two of us would like to hit while we're there.
What are you reading this month? I'd love any recommendations, especially since my TBR list isn't long enough (jk it's ENORMOUS)!
